Re: Paul Alex's character building, pain-in-the-ar5e, bufty money pit

    Gutted for you Paul,
Have a week or so to get over it all and see how you feel, after all the time and effort it would be a shame to throw the towel in now, a proper escort such as yours is only ever going to go up in value, if you acted rashly now and sold think of what you will have to go through to build another one at a later date. From reading the thread you would never be able to buy one and use as you would not be happy with it.
This has to be one of the best ones out there.
I have a customer who has done 3 events so far and has damaged the car each time, last time it needed a hefty pull on the jig, joys of rallying I guess.
Chin up and don't do anything rash.
    Cheers,
    James

        Heart breaking seeing that video.

Moggy- that isn't an escape road it's part of the stage. It's a split- first lap split 90left, 2nd lap through the hay bale chicane to the finish.

Get it back out there! Too much time and hard work has gone in to not enjoy it thoroughly on the stages now.

        All the best.

that the way cars are they test you sometime to your limit but one good day driving or one good slide its al forgot.
after all the bad time in our lives make us cherish the good. it could be worse you could be like me i dream of being fit to afford a car like that but i will never be able to

Re: Paul Alex's character building, pain-in-the-ar5e, bufty money pit

Thanks for all the kind words and support guys

I think I just needed to not see the car for a while The build-up to that event in Belgium couldnt have gone much worse with issues right upto the evening before we travelled. I literally spent days doing nothing but the Escort - even to the point of not eating and barely sleeping - so when it all went pear-shaped I just had zero energy or enthusiasm left for it. Throw in some (whisper it) sensible stuff like work to give priority and its just been sat gathering dust....oh yes, and the fact that it cost me a small fortune on the upgrades before the event so I just had the proper ar$e with it all to be honest...

Luckily I've got a great bunch of friends who knew when to not mention it, and when to nag me about it The good news is that I shoudl have maybe looked at it soner, as its literally only taken a couple of hours for magic-metal-man Gary to straighten it up - so new wings and front panels are going on this week and it'll be in paint as soon as I can find a slot in my favourite paintman's diary....

...as you'd probably guessed, it wont be the same - we're playing the how-can-we-improve-it-as-it-goes-back-together game at the moment

                              More soon,

                              Paul.
