Re: Paul Alex's character building, pain-in-the-ar5e, bufty money pit
Well, it may be four days late but I just received the best present of Christmas 2013.....
.....have just been told car can be squeezed into the body shop in 2-3 weeks time
As it probably only needs a decent weekend to re-fit the engine and box, we should have a pretty functional rally car sat in the garage before the end of FebruaryComment

Re: Paul Alex's character building, pain-in-the-ar5e, bufty money pit
What's to show? It's just a front panel on an old Escort?!?!
Ohh Ok then, how's this....
We've had the usual mentality that there's no way I'm spending money on it to remain at the same spec - so the new front panel is mounted using spotlight brackets to save weight, has a cooling duct through to manifold area, an induction tube ready to feed an airbox, custom brackets to lower radiator slightly, larger central air vents (similar to CossieMatt's), and a lightweight bonnet landing panel. It's still all removable - but hopefully using tools next time rather than a straw baleoh yes, and there's a set of ally bonnet hinges to hold the Gucci bonnet....
More (very!) soon I hope....

Great to see the progress, looks excellent. All the new mods are nice touches too, as you say not worth all that work without making some improvements.

Re: Paul Alex's character building, pain-in-the-ar5e, bufty money pit
Have had a scary afternoon pricing up new parts that are needed, but not letting it deter me….
Other than a planned suspension upgrade, the biggest cost is to replace perfect condition seats just because they are out of date
If anyone is interested in a pair of carbon kevlar Corbeau Pro-Series seats for around half new price, let me know.
Cheers,

No idea mate - gonna get it spot-on before using it, but don't think that will take too long. Maybe a single venue in April then something proper like Killarney or Manx.....have to go back to Belgium and avenge some Demons tooComment
