Thank mate, it was great fun and I got to dice with all different cars which is exactly what it's all about

We've found and solved (hopefully) a couple of major issues after silverstone so it gives me a bit more confidence going into brands, plus the main thing is to be able to approach the 2010 season with as much of the car sorted as possible so that we can have a good year

We gave the car a really look over today and found quite a few things to sort out before the next meeting. The main one was that the clutch which had totally had it.

Not only had the sintered clutch plate worn and started to break up but the outer ring had seized onto the splines, essentially making the whole thing inoperative. We renewed the plate and rebuilt the rest also giving the gearbox, prop etc a good look while they were out.

We have also totally replumbed the oil breather system as we had found oil getting to the catch tank as well as onto the tyres, engine bay, gearbox and just about everything. The new method is to breath straight into the catch tank rather than via the dry sump tank as we think we'd been pressurising the tank and forcing oil out of it.
Time will tell but the way we have it now is the way Grahams has run all year and it can't be any worse (oil getting into the o/s front wheel has caused an off, or near off in every meeting, with hindsight! )

Heres the new breather system, and just to be sure the small alloy tank has been replaced by a 5L oil can which is cable-tied in, so if that fills up during a race oily tyres will be the least of our worries





There are now two (rather than one) pipes breathing from the dry sump tank and the cam cover breather also goes straight to the catch tank. The block breather has been blocked off, so we will see how well this works for the last round.
