Thanks Steve - I'm afraid man-flu is stopping play this week now but by leavinb it in Gary's capable hands I know it'll be looking good again soon.

As well as the shell and interior mods, we're also changing the oil/water cooler arrangement, having the engine and box mapped again at Bruntingthorpe and will be messing some more with the brakes.

Its going to be a busy couple of months!

      Cheers,

      Paul

This car was the nuts before mate, phase 2 sounds like it'll be 10 times better but if you're going upgrade it after each event it might become a little bit expensive, but needs must if we're going to irelend to play with the big boys

              Hello Paul.

Well, the Chritsmas upgardes havent really gone to plan, although progress is being made. Having said that, its booked into the bodyshop in around 4 weeks time, and there's no reason for that not to happen still.

After that, instead of just bolting verything back on, I'm going to make a few minor changesin the engine bay, then its time to buy some more tyres and find an event.

Being realistic, I think the Epynt event in March might be too soon - so we'll have to look around for somthing in April perhaps instead....

When will yours be ready Paul? And where are the pics?

              Cheers,

              Paul

Well done Paul. Happy new year by the way! Does a few minor changes in the engine bay include a 2.4 stroker kit?!!

Hoping to have some pics by the end of jan - well that would be a start! Other than that, no idea - but i need to get if back together as its hanging over me these days.

Re: Paul Alex's Honda-powered tarmac rally Escort

                  Hi Paul,

2.4 may well appear next year, but only after I've seen how much pace we can squeeze from the 2.0 and myself first. 2011 will be spent getting all other areas of the car absolutely spot-on first I reckon - which basically means losing some weight, 3-way suspension, and possibly a paddle-shift setup.

After spending over 2 hours stuck on a jam on the M25 last night we still managed a quick session on it last night. Matt dragged the engine out of it, and Gary has now sorted all the damage out - so she's got straight panels all over again (and less dodgy repairs panels and filler )

It still needs the front spoiler and arches fitted (awaiting spoiler), and Gary is going to work his magic in the boot to save a few Kg's and make it prettier. Then its off to Shaun's in a couple of weeks for the decent coat of paint it's always needed

                  Cheers,

                  Paul.

I'd be very, very surprised if mine hasnt got paddles on it by the end of the year - and I'd bet that Matt will probably have his before me

The jury is still out on 3-way or 4-way suspension though - still lots of drivers (and prep firms) suggesting that you can't beat Bilsteins!?!? (which I dont believe )

                          Cheers,

Well, I've just seen pics of Gary's latest errr small incision........

.....and have no idea how he doesnt get phased and think he's bitten off more than he can chew sometimes

I only popped on here quickly as I have jetlag, and now I'm going to be stuck wide awake all night thinking of how its going to look when its finshed - thanks Gary

                            Cheers,

Now pick up the phone and tell Steve you want those flappy-things instead of the dampers - I'm sure he'll let his favourite engineer pay him for them later. You could call it an extended test-bed facility that you're offering him
