Yes, not long now - but the new plan sees us out in Belgium a few times before tackling Mull and/or Killarney....

Mmmmmmm tbh I'm cutting that one really fine I'd say Paul - but gonna take some time off work to make it happen. So long as there are no disasters, we'll be ok I think Then back to Belgium twice in June

Have had some small bits and pieces arrive this week so I'll hopefully make some more progress on Sunday - as long as the weather agrees

          Cheers,

          Paul

                Hello Rob,

Not loads of snow, but enough to mean I won't be rolling her out onto the drive tomorrow - which means no work in the boot or inside. I might get some small bits done in the engine bay, although a "high" of -1 tomorrow may mean that a greasy breakfast at the cafe makes more sense instead.....

Re: Paul Alex's character building, pain-in-the-ar5e, bufty money pit

As expected, not a great deal of progress last weekend - although I have been dropping off and collecting bits throughout the week, so hopefully I'll move it forward some this weekend.

A big thanks to Matt Downer (CossieMatt) for machine a flat onto my remote filter housing and tapping a thread into it. Rather than have the slightly bulky oil pressure housing hanging out the side, we're going to take a banjo fitting from here and have the sender fixed elsewhere - probably on the bulkhead...

I've also had the guys at SBD supply a new release bearing, and turn up a spacer to position it exactly where it needs to be...

While at SBD I also picked this up - keerrrching

...and having realised that my existing plumbed-in and hand-heads were out of date, I took the plunge and bought these...double keerrrching

I must say a huge thanks to the boys at CAM Auto Developments - who have supplied all the hoses, unions and extinguishers recently. Their service and advice has been absolutely spot-on

All being well, the clutch, gearbox, propshaft and exhaust can be fitted this weekend - plus some hoses and other odds and sods. So long as the new radiator arrives next week, it could almost be at the point where there's just a bit of wiring between us and firing the thing up

Good to see some more bling for the car Paul

With regards to your fire extinquishers could your exsiting ones not be refilled or has there been a rule change that does not allow you to use the ones you had ?

                      Hi Ian,

Lifeline won't re-fill them if they are outside the service date unfortunately - and while you can use them out of date in the UK, overseas events don't like it....

...also need to buy a new seat and HANS device before taking it to Belgium in May

                      Cheers,

                      Paul.

Oh bugger the system in my car is out of date and was just going to send it away to be refilled , sounds like I need to start saving for a new one then .
I dont use my car for competion like yourself but worried it may not work if out of date

Frustrating eh Ian?!? If you do need one, ask CAM Auto - bloody great service from proper enthusiasts. Oh yes and they have a lovely 6R4 to drool over too

                              Hi Rob,

3kg plumbed-in and 2kg handhelds. I know I can get away with less but it'd be heartbreaking to watch the thing go up in flames......

......although I've been close to taking a match to it myself over the past few months
