Paul Alex's character building, pain-in-the-ar5e, bufty money pit
Looking great Paul - we still need more pics though! LOL.
So has the whole car been resprayed now then? It sounds to me like you've started phase 2 - any plans to get out again this year? Or just develop the car to how you wanted it?

Hi Paul - how is yours coming along now? I've hardly been on here recently to keep track........
Yes, my whole car has been repainted outside, plus the engine bay and boot - and now has a finish worthy of all the other parts on the car.
I've still got some travelling for work to do this year, but it will definitely be out at least once or twice this year on closed roads. To be honest, I'm in two minds whether to put it back similar to before, or to possibly change engines and get something that will allow me to contest Belgium as well as Irish rallies in future. One day I think that I was pushing Millington-powered cars with a misfiring S2000 so why change, and the next I think why should I give others a 50-60bhp head-start, and that maybe I should go for serious power. Obviously the downside is that a strong Duratec is a minimum of £15-16k upwards, and you can add at least another £5k for a Millington.....
Then again, I could leave the escort on the garage for polishing and buy a mental roadcar
I'll get some more shots up tomorrow hopefully, and then more as it gets bolted back together....
I know how you feel on the engine front! If i could i would have a duratec to go to belgium with and then not bother with rallying over here - its so good over there.
You've not missed much progress on mine! Still not running and still lacking motivation - as like you, mines no where near how i envisaged it on the paint front. I really wish i had got Shaun to do the whole thing now.
Yours looks really good mate. I've never known anyone get so excited over drip rails
So what make of carbon boot and bonnet have you got now?
Hello mate - have been travelling loads with work agian, but have managed three consecutive Sundays on it recently - so there's light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, its looking soooo much better than it ever did before, mainly because of your handywork
All being well, it'll be running again in around 4-5 weeks - have already booked a mapping session to make sure I keep the momentum going
Sorry guys - I promise to get some more detial pics next time I'm in the garage. My only concern is that lots of the improvements that I'm happy with might be too minor for anyone not closely involved with the car to spot. Having said that - I'm really "feeling it" for the car at the moment, so it must be OK - I was after selling it when most on here were sending compliments
Having said that - I reckon by this time next month it could be sporting some major upgrades too - as I'm currently working away which leaves me with too much time to dream up silly ideas. Oh yes, and Mr Downer isnt helping matters either!!!!!!!!!!
