Heres my racer then. Started life as an RS2000 that I restored to std ish spec. Long story sort, pinto died, got replaced with a zetec and the car gradually got more modified, with GP2 arches etc.
The car has now been rebuilt purely as a race car to enter the Track and race car championship next year.
Heres the pics before it went to the painters, with the 'wet' wheels and a mock up of the Gulf colour scheme it will keep.

.
The spec is roughly as follows; Gaz shocks all round with capri 3.0 front suspension, modified to fit an escort and give wider track. Rear has a 6 link system on a full width atlas. Brakes are willwood 310mm and 4pots front and sierra rear. Inside everything is stripped out, including the dash.
It has a full weld in cage, one off pedal box and bulkhead, large tunnels and a boot exiting exhaust.
The engine is being built now and is a 24v V6 out of a granada and the gearbox is a TVR T5. All of which have been moved back around 12" to aid weight distibution.
The body work is based on Nick whitings old V6 racing escort and is locally known as the 4X
Wheels are 11"x15" (compomotive) for the wets (see pics) and 10.5"x16" and 13"x16" (image wheels) with 10" and 12.5" slicks for the dry.
Oh and there's a rear venturi and front splitter to aid the aero's.
All the hard work was done by Gary at Retromotorsport but lots of people have helped along the way to produce this pretty unique car. Thanx you guys and TS for the support
As they say watch this space popcorn:
