the trouble with going to bruntingthorpe is how long you are at full chat at a time, due to the long runway you conatantly on full throttle far longer than any race circuit
Dont worry Andy that engine is in safe hands, It will be interesting to see the difference in dyno plots I think.

the problem with the gearbox tunnel is the MSA wont allow the regs to say you cant modify the origonal floor pan unless you want to put a bigger tunnel in an escort. the ruling has to be non car specific, so if we allowed tunnel modifications in escorts then we would have to allow it in everything and with classes B-E we want the cars to be production based and dont want the body shells hacked around.
Graham,I'm thinking of joining in the fun with my mk1 that I use for sprints, only thing is the top part of the tunnel has been removed and replaced with a slightly larger one(same goes for the diff tunnel);is this allowed in the rules?? Is there anything else that I should be aware of?
Sorry for hijacking the thread Andy

technically it would put you in class A which is anything goes almost, that said technically hillclimb sprint regs wouldnt allow such a mod unless you are running in the anything goes sports libre class which i doubt you are
so you could enter and run class A or run in the appropriate class for your car if it werent for the tunnel mods and hope no one protests! which to be honest rarely happens and is even less likely to happen unless you start winning lots
