Re: DW's (new?) Sierra N/A PINTO race car
I still havnt thanked you for doing that.. Graham, thank you.
What Graham did with that rule change closed the gap between the modern Class D's and the older car's, making for much more entertaining racing, both for the drivers and the spectators, and was something that the FWD D's that i spoke too welcomed, its the class rules that the DMN have that make it one of the (if not the best non TV championship) best championships out there.
As for linking the Sierra,
its something that i looked at years ago, using links from the rear, this gets round the floorpan modifications as in the rules the floorpan is between wheel centers... Diff unit has to remain withing 50mm of original position.. well that 50mm up and down , total of 100mm, plenty on a race car, and at the wheels, probably 150mm..........
spirit of the competition...
probably not, which is why its just been filed away.
And as Dave said. this is a simple , easily repaired build.
Yes, history has shown that live axled sierras have been better than the IRS cars... but, these cars have huge power, Dave's relying on balance to get the lap times, not grunt....... Lets see what happens
