Re: DW's (new?) Sierra N/A PINTO race car

We got loads more done today, especially getting most of the work on the loom, switchbox and pedal box done. The alternator is all fitted properly with its belt in place too now which is a result, forgot to take a pic of it though.
We also got the seat and gauges in (although I'm on the lookout for a black seat) and we have some nice new LED headlights in place, soon to get a perspex cover similar to what i had on the escort.

The switch panel also houses the fuses and relays as well as the start button, so it tends to keep the interior nice and tidy. I think it's pretty much the way wrc and touring cars do it now too as they wanna keep all the weight as low as possible.

I'm just on the lookout for an 80mm revcounter as my one is for a six pot engine, and also a black seat so I can just keep the blue one for passengers on trackdays.

Dave, I'm looking to get a Stack one for my car, so I have an Elliott one you could buy? It's actually Matt's, so the money would go to him and I'd have to check he's ok to part with it too, but should be ok. I think it goes to 8k, would that be enough/ok for you?

              One of these it is.....

That loom is pretty small and light weight for a car with management and throttle bodies, crank sensor and injector plugs and all the rest of it it weighs buGGER ALL!!!!

Re: DW's (new?) Sierra N/A PINTO race car

Andy and Ant finished off most of the loom today, fitting the plugs and connectors where required. Pics don't do it justice but I have to say the loom is amazing. The switch box is all made now so once Andy has run the wires into it the electrics are all done. We are only really left with running the fuel, oil and brake lines and refitting the gearbox and diff then, so shouldn't be too long before we can get Linford fired up

Today we also fitted up the fuel rail and all of the throttle bodies properly and at the same time I fitted an air temp sensor in the backplate of the filter so that side of the bay is finished now. Starter motor and alternator are also finished and fitted now

Cheers, fellas, yesterday we also made an alloy battery tray to sit on the shelf and a bracket for the fluid reservoirs that's bolted through the wiper motor fixings. We are trying to only use origional fixings and holes on the car where ever possible

Oh and got both of the rear windows fitted properly
