Looking good Dave, am I right in that the Elliot gauge is 0-9000? I don't think you can get them in that any more. Btw tho, who's Matt Downing?

Sorry i meant Matt Downstream. Yes it is 9000 which should be ample for the pintosaurus, just

oh and btw the clutch is a sintered AP race item, not ceramettalic as i'd said earlier in the thread. This is rated for the sort of torque Linford should make so hopefully it will be ok

Is it a plate lsd you fitting? I've been looking for one at resonable cost, but after one that will give full locking.

Have a chat with Tom from Fostek, he's the man who knows all about lsd's. The full spec of mine is still secret (well he wont tell me at least ) but it is a plate type as far as i know. Watch this space for updates

Re: DW's (new?) Sierra N/A PINTO race car

                        Here we go boys.

Yes this is a pukka motorsport plate-LSD. It's not un-usable on the road, but it would be a pain in the arse. It will provide full-locking, should you provoke it enough. As it happens, we can set these up from very-mild to very-severe, and anything inbetween, so if you tell me what the car's being used for I can provide a suitable diff.

There's quite a bit involved in fitting an LSD into a Sierra diff - it's not as simple as, say, an English diff - we have to machine various bits of the alloy diff housing, and modify the output flanges etc....All in a day's work, though!

Neat thing about these LSD's is that the guts (plates, ramps, planets) all come out of the other end of the diff - notice the little bolt heads - so you don't have to take the crownwheel on/off to service the diff... Which invariably you do have to do with these, another reason why they're not so good for a day-to-day car.

As for whether the cost is reasonable - give me a buzz and I can run through it with you

                          7" and 7 1/2" ?

I use mine for trackdays and Drifting. Currently i have a welded diff in, Make it a be err lively at times.
