They can make a custom manifold in a day. They had mine for 5 days though as they are very busy this time of year!

It been made from 18 gauge stainless.

This car is stunning in the flesh a real credit to you Jason, should be super quick this year.
I can't beleive how far you have gone to reduce weight, bloody mental.
Thanks for the advise with Wills car, pretty much the same spec as yours from last year now

Oh what is that 1600 sticker on the rear of yours all about

                    Built up:

Painted cam cover to suit 1600:

Been busy making up the rest of the exhaust, waiting on backbox from Merlin now.

Few pics of the system off the car, and the quality of the manifold

Still need to make hangers and get it welded up as just tacked atm.
Also my flywheel turned up today after 2 1/2 months of waiting! As long as the clucth fits, due next monday, it was worth the wait.

This is 2.5 kgs!! lighter than the substantially lightened standard flywheel I have used the past two seasons.

Also my new longacre rear view mirror turned up.

Andy came over tonight and helped me clean up and mount the fuel tank and fuel tank guard. Also fitted the windscreen wiper and fuel line bulkhead fittings.

                      Re: Ford Fiesta Race Car

Thats one light and good looking flywheel ! Two Kg's lighter than mine. Its going to pick up revs like a motorcycle!
Good to see they have them lighter now. A year back the 4.5 kg one was th lightest.
Ten week wait is quite a lot. Thay had a mix up with my fly too. First came a wheel weighting 2.6 kg's that did not fit and then they sent me the 4.5kg one.
                      I'm a bit jelous actually...=)

                      Do you have grid starts?

i thought if you went too light you lost torque?

have you mounted the catch tank yet? any pics?

No you do not loose or gain any actual torque produced by the engine. You just feel a little loss of momentum of the rotating mass.
Heavier flywheel has more force or momentum and slows down slower than lighter one . This is helpful on standing starts. The engine is harder to stall. And it smoothes the engine idle a bit. But it pick's up revs slower and this effects the acceleration negatively.
The choice of flywheel does not affect the actual number produced by the engine it only changes the characteristics and temper of the motor.

Ooh yes that is the plastic one. The newer one. How did you get rid of those fixed cam cover bolts? I hate'em are you putting them back or using studs perhaps?
