Well there is only 2 kits and as I described above its the Lexan Margard kit, their top kit. £300 + vat plus Paul's has the Gucci pro window slider kit +£240 not 100% sure if he went thermoformed or not.

Re: Paul Alex's Honda-powered tarmac rally Escort

Matt is right, they're the top spec bits from P4P - and then we went and modified them just a little to be different

Re: Paul Alex's Honda-powered tarmac rally Escort

Well, I'm beginning to think I should have stuck with modern stuff

I've had it at two events, and bought it home dead twice now

This time the engine has let go - no warning, no bad temperatures and pressures look fine. There's no way I'm putting more hours into it just to bring it back out at the same spec, so looks like its time to either pick up some Honda bits up while I'm in America, or look around at silly options.....

              Stupid car!!!!

Re: Paul Alex's Honda-powered tarmac rally Escort

Was just at the track day at Brands Hatch to shakedown the new parts. We did two or three short runs to just sort a fee silly things out, then it went pear-shaped....

The car got lots of positive comments, with many saying it looks like a touring car with the new pedal box setup (which is lovely to drive on), but it's no good stuck in the garage. There's no way it's staying off the road for another long period (I've committed to do an event in Ireland) so it needs decisions and parts soon....

Seriously tempted by a decent Duratec - more power and 30-40kgs less weight - but also want to see what the Honda can do.

                    Cheers,

                    Paul

Sorry to hear the bad news about the engine Paul , hope it does not cost a small fourtune and can be done in a reasonable time

Thanks Ian - it can certainly be put right without it breaking the bank (I can get another salvage unit) but the thought of going to that effort for no more power kind of annoys me

Whatever I decide, it has to be running again quickly - otherwise its easy to let one month slip into another, then even more. Want it properly sorted and tested well before next season statrts.

                                Cheers,

                                Paul.
