No, last one I bought came from Barney and that must be 4 years ago now
I've only had to replace the tie rods with new ones and got them from Demon Tweeks
The company that manufactures them is Kiley Clinton in Birmingham

I'd like to be the first to congratulate Paul on a great result on the first rally after his rebuild with an impressive 22nd O/A on the Get It Sideways rally at Down Ampney in challenging conditions (hail, rain and mud) The event wwas only meant to be a shakedown and learning day.
Well done mate, and she's not so shiney now!!!
Car ran faultless all day I believe, a real credit to his dedication and skill in building a lovely car.

Thanks Tim, i got one from the boys at RACE in the end.
Well three hours with the pressure washer to get it clean on the outside today! Still got inside to do next weekend!
Well managed to get the engine in last sunday finished it about 10.00pm tried starting it but no luck, so had to leave it as it was getting late for the neighbours. Carried on fault finding during the week and it turned out to be a duff fixed fuel pressure regulator. It was giving me over 100psi and it should have been 55! Used an adjustable one that i had, set it to 55 and she fired up first time!
So with that sorted, on my day off on Friday i had to make things like mudflaps, extinguisher pulls and bits like that. As always this takes longer than you think and finally by 11pm friday night we had cut the tyres, loaded the van and were ready to leave at 4am! WE HAD MADE IT!
Once we got set up, and passed scrutineering we had about an hour and a half till our stage start. As we didn't get a chance to do a road test we found that the clutch was biting so high up the pedal, that we decided to try and space the slave cylinder back to lower the bite. It helped a bit, but wasn't great.
All set up for the day ahead.
I was keen to get going to see what was what. The sun was out and i was hoping it would stay for the day. Stage one and having never been to the venue before i had no idea where we were going. We pottered round the corners and booted it on the straights! The grip was as expected - non existent ! Got back with no problems to report..
After stage 4 we were up to 17th o/a and then the heavens opened and dumped a load of hail stones!! Now queuing up for stage 5 sat in the car with the hail bouncing off the car was making me nervous to say the least. The grip wasn't great but it was starting to dry out in places. People were going off left right and centre before the hail! Anyway off we went into the storm, we caught the car in front so i thought we couldn't have been doing too bad. It turned into a bit of a traffic jam with about 4 cars going round together. I let the cars past that were keen to make up time in these conditions - that was certainly not me! All i kept thinking was "3 years i've been building this car, and i am not going to scratch it"!!
After the storm!
We dropped two minutes on that stage, so much so my service crew thought there was a problem with the times!
By stage 8 i could have happily gone home as i had proven what i wanted too and the enthusiasm was lacking as the late nights and early start had caught up with me! But we finished the last two stages with no real dramas.
I learn't a lot about the car and my driving through the day. I've decided that i need to stop talking to the co driver, learn to concentrate for the whole stage! Don't slow down to let people past with smaller engined cars, as on the next straight they will hold me up with the grunt that i have got. With the car i need to see what suspension settings i have, as i ran out of time to get the tracking, camber and caster done so i just ended up doing it all up tight! So i couldn't tell if the car was not turning in due to the wet conditions or the lack of the wheels pointing in different directions
22nd overall is an improvement on my seeding, and a finish is an achievement in itself in the conditions!
Next event for me is Abingdon. Got a few things to do on the car, but its great to have it all back together. With the clutch thing, i might try winding the master cylinder fork back on the bias box to see if that will help move the bite lower down - something i rebuilt but didn't note the number of threads on the push rod.
I'm uploading two clips from the 1st stage, and the 4th stage which was my most enjoyable stage to show that i was getting faster through the corners, and braking later! it takes ages to load up to you tube.
