Re: My MK2 Rally car
Got the car back round to my mates again today. Ive raised the rear end now by an inch and it looks a lot more useable - but the flaps still need trimming!
Took the old steering rack off and noticed that the inside of the drivers front tyre has worn significantly more than the outer, and just put it down to too much camber. Even though i'm not running much at about 1.5 degrees.
When James checked it over for me, he said i was getting more lock on one way than the other, so i thought i'd whip the boots off to see if anything jumped out at me....
Now i'm no expert but thats not coming out the middle, nor is it straight! That will explain why it would never turn left with out understeering !
Tomorrow i will get the rack back on and then start taking the struts off to fit the new 300lB springs.Comment

Re: My MK2 Rally car
Thanks Paul, i already have a new one which i've had for ages from the Squires brothers. I bolted it up to the WCXM yesterday morning and then took the struts off to fit the new springs. Also took the anti roll bar off as it is bent, so i will get a new one this week, ready for the weekend.
Ive got one question on rose joints, is the ball in the middle supposed to be able to spin all the way round? Or does that mean they are worn? I have one that is obviously worn, but i have a few that feel ok, but do spin right the way round.Comment

Re: My MK2 Rally car
I fitted up the new anti roll bar today with new drop kit and put the suspension struts on again.
Can anyone help me with this rose joint? It is properly fooked! Wobbles like a bitch, but i can decide is its an all in one rose joint, of if the "cone" bit has been pressed in as a separate unit??
It goes on the front on the tension strut, and its needed to get the "droop" angle.
