Well the story with the engine is that it came out of the car today ready for the bay to be painted and I remembered that it hadn't been drained, so we took the plug out and fantastic, absolutely clean, clear water. Unfortunately it was the sump we were draining and we were looking for oil and not water

After a couple of minutes of the engine p**sing all over the drive the water stopped, and what can only be described as 30 minutes of gut wrenching diarrhea ensued

but if ever you do have a problem with diarrhea the night after a good/bad curry Andy does a great trick with a coat hanger to help it along

Right after modifying the seat mount to get a nice driving position the other day we noticed that with the wheel, pedals and seat all working nicely together the straight 'escort' quickshift was a bit of a long reach for me. The std type 9 and t5 sticks in a sierra are angled backwards and not straight like the quaife stick.

Luckily i know someone who is always more than willing to 'bend for a friend' so after a quick trip to Harlow and a couple of cups of coffee we managed to get it like this.

said it before but it's faaaar too long since i made it down! (and apparently i know a shit load more about sierras than escorts... apparently!)

Will definately be out this year Mark and your sierra knowledge would be very welcome on test/race days

Our only setback at the moment is that the painter has had an accident, putting him out of action for some time I imagine. i wish him well and getting the car finished comes second to anyones health.
We might get the bay all painted to start with so that everything can be fitted up in there and that should keep us on schedule as the respray won't take too long anyway.

The stick is simply a quaife item. It was stripped down and then bent with several tonnes of force in a press with grimaces on the faces of those within a metre radius of the action

I can let you have some white paint off the nova if you can get close enough
I got my licience through today so all systems go on that front but my car looks to be about the same stage as yours and march will be here before we know it,i can see trying to finish it on the night before the first race and breaking down on the first bend
