This barrel of oil is gonna be at 90 to 100 degrees c.
You can ill afford the extra temperature in engine bay, heating intake air.
Cooler, using your logic of short lines, will be in engine area as well, further heating air
Barrel contains x in front.
Barrel contains y + z in boot therefore is smaller.
These lines, will and should be alloy, thereby aiding oil cooling, making cooler smaller.
Cooler will be under car, therefore air will be heating opponents.
Barrel in boot, positioned correctly, will enable weight, off of overworked front tires, into a position, to be determined, to corner weight, car better.
Roger, the car is 50/50 weight with driver, and tyre temps bear this out.
Engine builder wants the oil up front, it goes up front
Using the firewall to stiffen the shell??? you could cut all of andy's rear bodywork away and the car will still drive, all the suspension is picked up by the cage, so adding a firewall will just add weight above the axle.
As for heat..we're in England, not mexico, the car spends a lot of time with the rad taped up.
And lastly, this x-flow powered escort pisses all over a lot of other cars that should, on paper, be quicker.
If we did things your way, the car would be heavier = slower (longer oil line, firewall)
we did try you massive camber, and guess what, yep slower. This was tried on the same day that Andy was up against Craig Rainers 400bhp big wheeled class leading Mk2, and Andy was a second slower than him... one second, thats all with less than half the power. 1 second between a class A car and a Class D car.. and at a track that Andy always does bad at, hes bogey track, At Brands Hatch he was just 0.7 seconds of Craigs time.
WOW some beautifull bits of kit there... never seen that thread before
cmon then andy tell the people whats happening

Heres a pic of Andy's car to show how it has never had a firewall. The tank is under the car with a protected filler line running to the rear pillar, the battery is in the passenger footwell theres almost no shelf and the bootspace.. well at best it stops the bootlid from falling on the floor, and thats about all
I love the shadows on the 4 link box in this pic too

Quickly strapped these bad boys on today. 45mm Jenveys
They look and fit the nuts and are a credit to their previous owner as they are like brand new still
They are slightly shorter than the 50's too so we have a bit more space to play with..
