Ok cheers mate, I might have a word with SBD too, as I believe they still source all their dry sump equipment from them.

Is this going to be on the grid for the beginning of next season then?

Re: DW's (new?) Sierra N/A PINTO race car

      i've been compairing blocks

to use the 205 pump bracket on an early 2.0 block as you say dave you will need to drill and tap the holes in the block out to m10 from m8 and that long spacer needs lenthening by about 10mm,

      not so much work then,

if anyones interested whilst i was looking at blocks i got the bathroom scales out, the early block is 2kg lighter than the 205

I may have a go with some steels. Looked at a cut and shut on 2 mondeo steel 15's to give 9 .5" wide. Not sure on the offset.

I'll dummy fit it with M8's first just to see if the belt fits right and that the pump is straight.

Thinking back, you may have the same bracket that I was given by pace!

And they changed it for the one I have now.

Not sure how I managed to miss this one - what a wicked project

I seem to be at that funny age where I keep having silly thoughts about 3-door Sierras Was drooling over a couple at Brands on Thursday too....

              Keep the updates coming!

              Cheers,

Cheers Paul, yes the ones you mention at Brands are absolutely gorgeous, I was sorry I couldn't make it as I haven't seen them in action.
Will take quite a while before the bodywork on mine gets that good but it gives me something to aim for. Besides its a racecar so will get a bit of a hammering anyway

Hopefully all of the removable panels like doors, bonnet, tailgate, bumpers etc will be off to the painters in the week then the car will follow once they are done. It is only having a freshen up but knowing Ray, our painter he'll want it all done before he lets it go, depends on how much time we get.

                  Nice project!

I'm not sure if you have solved the diff issue, but the later Scorpios (1995-on) were available with 7,5" diffs with 4.09:1 (8v DOHC) and 4.27:1 (16v DOHC). Usually quite a bit cheaper than motorsport ratios ;-)

They also have a rear beam that is strenghtened in several ways.

Cheers Gustaf, I will investigate this further as that sounds like the solution

Beam off the BOB Scorpio is not a straight fit as its wider. Rear track is about 30mm wider.

Re: DW's (new?) Sierra N/A PINTO race car

im just basing your diff requirement off my experience with the 2002, i had 200bhp and8k to play with in 800kg, with 15 inch slicks a 4.27 final drive and dirct top, which was great at lydden, a slightly too short for brands somewat too short at silverstone and way too short for snett, but a 4:1 lost some of the magic at the shorter circuits without being a great improvement at snet

so with an overdrive top gear and bigger wheels in a heavier car i would of expected you to need a ratio of 4.4:1
