After this happened at Combe a few urgent repairs were needed
Gary straightened out the quarter and sill very well but the inner and outer sill were split/cut through in several places and both the A and B pillars had moved quite a bit
outer sill off..
First test fit of sill and borrowed door (cheers James, although you could have lightened it a bit )
Sierra cosworth turbo race car QMN saloon car championship RETRO Motorsport
I know battery is still wired in but we had running repairs going on under the car as the brise starter had fooked itself at combe too. Steve nextdoor has now made up an experimental geared one that seems much better, so watch this space..
A few spare bits
Almost done, outer sill being welded in
and inner done, along with group 4 strengthening plate under crossmember (and Garys fingers), as that had also moved a fair bit.
Well done Gary , a good days work I think and all thats left now is to collar the painter and get a bit of filling and painting done to get it like new again, the way it was at the beginning of the season after hours of bodywork
Bloody hell, good work there Gary. Looks like this is a season set to test you Andy but great to see you all pitching in and getting the car back out again. What are the remaining dates for you this year??
Door is back on now on bolts, so it can come off again easy for painting the sill, and the wing is fixed back on.
Andy is gonna put some yellow on it in the week and hopefully some new doors will be made up soon pray:
Should keep it looking neat until the painter can have a proper go at it later on
