Went to HT,s today to put the car on the rollers, made almost exactly the same power it made before its freshen up 114bhp and93lbft thought it might of made a bit more as its had a fair bit of work block decked and porting of the inlet manifold etc but no it wont make any more power after 6400 but the cam should be good for 8kand altering the cam timing didnt seem to make much differencelooks like the minis will be leaving me behind on the straights,i will just have to try harder in the bends

Who's rollers did it go on before the freshen up? Do you know the compression ratio? It should be capable of 130+ bhp.
Hi Nick it has made 113bhp and96lbft at Torque of the Devil, not sure on the CR but i know Andy who rebuilt it for me has decked the block to give more protrusion,i am also not running an alternator now

I know what you are saying Nick i just can not understand the cam drooping off at 6400 when its powerband is 3250to8000 and swinging the vernier didnt seem to make much difference, have you entered the first Dmn race Nick

The powerband of the cam depends on the rest of the engines' spec,my engine makes max power at 7700 but the cam goes to 9k.
Not entered DMN (yet) I don't really like 2 day meets. I am entered for the Intermarques on the 15th though.
Well i think we are about done ,hopefully going to go to a trackday at lydden on saturday, where we rolledthe old nova but i have got to race there so better to bury the demons sooner rather than later still not to sure on the brakes we have disconnected the servo , the pedal is quite hard but it just doesnt seem to want to slow it down not sure if its where they are new brakes and need beding in or if they need to get warm before they will work or if there is a problem ,any suggestions for bedding new discs and pads?
Well here are a few pics we got the car out to clean it up more race car than show car
Looks excellent What disc/pad combo are you using? Competition material will need bedding in,there are various ways of doing it but I'd be inclined to search the net for manufacturer specific instructions.
Love it jezz, looks like a proper race car now, very low and mean too
The brakes will probably start to make more sense after 2 or 3 laps with a bit of luck. They probably need a bit of bedding in and warming up and as we're used to servos in our road cars its bound to feel a bit alien to start with, but you won't want a servo on track anyways
