The sketch shows how it is today, compared to how it was originally. The belt is a 1260mm long one, so nothing OTT.
I'm 100% convinced that the impellor is attached to the pump. If I run the engine without the pressure cap on the header tank, there is a high pressure supply of water returning to the tank from the swirl pot on the sensor housing, and when I raise the revs, the flow of water increases significantly. I've tried clamping this pipe off too, and it makes no difference to the overheating.
Matt, do you run the bypass hose from the thermostat housing to the sensor housing?
