It would seem my computer skills are not good enough !!
Will hopefully fit the tailgate window this week, that will be bonded in to give the hatch a bit of strength with maybe just a couple of bolts to be sure it cant move..

Got a bit more done today, Andy finished the wiring loom and has now wired into the switchbox and ecu. The battery is also fitted and wired along with the cut out switch on the bulkhead.
A full test of all of the cars electrics was tried and we were all overjoyed to see that everything works.

The next job was to get the fuel tank in. We did this simply (although carefully) by making 3 holes in the boot floor to correspond with the outlets and filler on the tank and then once lifted into place under the floor we made 4 supporting rods and 2 braces to clamp the tank up to the floor.
To keep it all clamped tight and not damage the tank there is also some strips of foam/rubber insulation above the tank plus it also fits tightly between the rear panel and the chassis rail so it cant move even if the rods bend. Myself and Ant carefuuly made the clamps so that we could get a very tight fit around the tank with minimal intrusion into the car and i'm well pleased with the result.
We just need to make a cover for the filler spout now to act as a firewall, this will be pretty small as the filler only sticks up a couple of inches
Andy also got the swirl pot and fuel pumps into position in the wheel well. We can now start to plumb in all of the fuel lines.

Looks very nice Dave almost too nice to race, are you going to make the next round
They're never too nice to race mate
We're just going throught the whole car getting jobs done at the moment, it is getting closer to being done though.
The only large components missing off of the car are as follows;
1. Gearbox - stealing Andy Pipes, don't tell him
2. Clutch - Might fit a paddle rather than a sintered as Linford will have a bit more torque than the xflow with luck. Burtons will have something for the job so no worries there.
3. Diff - Fossie is on the case and its gonna be rather splendid
4. Dry sump tank - Already stolen Andy Pipe's, you know the drill. Just need to make a mount for it this week.
5. Plumbing - All in control, just need to order up the brake lines we need and the oil and fuel lines we have mostly.
6. Fuel regulator - Again probably from burtons, around 3 - 3.5 bar iirrc.
7. Harnesses - Lets just hope Andy doesn't need his car back out too soon
So not too much really, we can of course work quicker but as with most of us budget is the most limiting factor, but we'll get there soon
if you can/want dave email me the pics and i wil post em
glad you had a successfull day i got quite a bit done aswell
cheers
