Well done on the results you must be well happy with your first season of racing
Cheers Lee, the results were nothing special but the car has been a lot better than we ever thought it would be and as a result there won't be too many big changes over the winter, more a case of improving on what we have

Can now get on with rebushing the suspension. Starting with the TCAs. After buying new poly race bushes I was suprised to find nylon bushes already fitted! Turns out though that these were just the cheap one that could be bought for road cars due to the high wear rate of the normal rubber ones.
Next to my new bushes the old ones looked pretty naff and the inners of the old ones didn't even have metal inserts (just drilled nylon) so were probably shagged.
Anway I got one side all fitted up and installed on the car.
Next job is the wheel bearings on the same corner (very shagged) and then I can move to the other side. I will then start stripping the rear beam and rear bearings
i going to redo my wiring on my car because of again an other engine the rs2000 16v engine and i want it to be a nice and easy install. I intressed in the fuse box, been looking in local race shop and didnt find anything. Been looking on demon tweeks and nothing. Could you share some info on the fuse box?

The box is from maplin electronics and is essentially the same as the one used to house the gauges. The fuse holders, relay blocks and switches were all fom a local car electrical shop in London and we just cut all of the holes in the box to suit. I still have to label the fuses properly once I bring the label maker home..

Right first update for ages. Not done too much lately, what with xmas and the snow I lost a month and it is still bleeding cold out in my garage
Got back into it this week though and changed all of my crappy pink bonnet pins for nice new black ones from Burtons, mainly cos the old ones used to get stuck all of the time. Also got stuck into sorting my crash damage out, starting with the drivers door that took the brunt of it.
Went to Garys today and stripped down the standard door, drilled and swaged a few lightening holes and removed all of the inner panel. Gary then welded in the strengthening tube that incorporates the door handle.
It all came out well and should match the pasenger door nicely. Just need to get a drop of paint on it now and new decals
Some of the damage even though the door had been 'straightened out' quite a bit.
Gary now has some new art for his gallery. The blue heater bowl under it is off of my old car.

We received our tranx boxes back from the gearbox man (CTS) this week. Mind you he had finished them in December a week after we dropped them off but we obviously didn't need to fit them until now. Great service though
Andy has his fitted in the mk1 already so I got mine in the sierra today. It has all new internals but is essentially the same type 9 as Andys that I used last season apart from I have gone for a slightly closer top gear ratio. This should not affect top speed much, if at all, but will help the cars acceleration in 5th.
Engine is in hand and should be going back together soon with new rings, bearings and a crank polish just to be on the safe side.
All I need now is the expensive business of a clutch. I used Andys AP sintered one last year but I think I need something a bit more 'meaty' to cope with the extra weight and torque of the car compared to the escort. I intend to use a single plate cerametallic paddle but the AP ones are pretty expensive. Any ideas or alternative brands I should look at? I think a helix is around £400 and an AP a bit more..

I bought a Quortermaster 7.25" clutch from Paul at BPJ Services. Was very reasonably priced and should more than cope with the pinto torque and Sierra weight. Paul used his Quortermaster in a 2.4 Duratec Escort. Was somewhere in the 260£ region for the whole lot.
Ap aren't that expensive,I use a single 4 paddle cerametallic on mine,it gets lots of abuse including standing starts with a 2.04 1st gear and a 3.5 diff! I can get you a price if you want DW?
