Re: A race bmw 316, now S14 powered again!

yes and no! tyre temps prove cambers to be correct, BUT in practise you always end up with heavier wear on the outside of the front and inside rear turning in always tends to scrub the outside, where as the rears the camber does tend to wear the inside on the straights, but thats a compromise needed to get ful contact patch cornering , the wears not enough to worry about, just turn the tyres on the rim half way through there life

Re: A race bmw 316, now S14 powered again!

My temps were pretty much right on the money too. But as you said I need to keep rotating the tyre positions to avoid ruining any single tyres.
This year my left rear tyre took a beating and costed me 1,3 seconds on a 1,2 mile lap.
Still I'm thinking mora negative camber would see better contact on the road during cornering.

perhaps, im not sure, dont forget you have a live axle and i have an independant rear which suffers camber change as the suspension compresses

I'm not sure either but ona would think. Doesen't your outer rear wheel get more negative camber during compression? Isn't that a good thing? as long as the toe don't change too much.

it does, great in a corner not so good on the straight though!

Re: A race bmw 316, now S14 powered again!

Right. Hadn't thought of that. We don't really have straights here only only tiny pauses in cornering =)
Around here the time is solely made in the corners. The straights are not that long to make a noticeable difference.
