Even the flu could not stop you getting to Manchester to get the heads. Good find. Great to see that the project is back on.

M42 use 35mm buckets (and there are shim under options - I have Eurospec buckets for my M42). Supertech have buckets for S14s (link).

Also Graham have you seen pics of the chopped up S14 head on S14power.com (UweM3)? These could be useful.

Lovely bit of kit Graham, are you missing many parts now to build the engine or is it all porting and machining now?

Great to hear you have gathered some of the most important parts, the cams will surely add a lot more power potential, can't wait to hear this monster when its finnished

not with a monster 91mm stroke! the auzzy steel rods are recond to be safe to 10k, but they didnt envisage my crank! or a near std top end!

the cams probably give me 280+bhp potential, as long as a lash up of exhaust and inlet manifolding dont rob me too much power

but sod what it makes i just want to get it together now!

ok finally got something done on the car itself today, i bolted a scrap 1.8 block in so i could get on with sorting the exhaust manifold

i recently aquired some m5 exhaust manifolds with a possible view to using 2/3 of them to make a manifold, 2 or 3 of the branches would of gone quite easily, it would of been very difficult to connect the 4th cylinder to make a 4 into 1 and nigh on impossible to build a 421, so i opted to cut the flanges off and weld them to my existing ashley pinto/bmw m10 manifold

so far only got the middle branches done strangely it was harder doing this than turning the pinto manifold into a bmw one in the first place

ex manifolds now sporting s14 flanges just got to do a little work cleaning the internal joins up, poor things had a hard life, it was secondhand and beaten up when i got it having previously lived on a rally car

unfortunatly after a bit of meassuring up i've realised having bought a more radical cam than i ever invisaged using at this stage im back to valve piston clearance issues
