    a plus point about staying n/a is you wont need to change diff ratio which you certainly will if you go turbo, re gearbox, the t9 with a tranx gearkit you had wouldnt of really been upto it anyway

      Prodrives own M3, in their showroom;

      Another origional M3 rally car, rebuild for a customer by prodrive. There was also another one stripped to a bare metal shell but pics weren't allowed as it was being built right next to 2011's bmw mini clubman WRC car!

          Re: A race bmw 316, 240bhp Atmo M10

          fronts have had the std "L" shaped lower arm replaced with a TCA and compression strut AKA escort, its difficult to see but like mine the ARB has had extra holes drilled in it, the picture also gives me an idea how i might move the ARB link to the strut (non m3 arb is linked to bottom arm) without wrecking my ledas

          rears have had the hub braced to the arm as thats were they bend, and the ARB mount uprated and rose jointed

              Really, in the flesh it could just as easily be a Rav4 with a shortened DB9 bonnet, but we didn't see a finished car as it was elsewhere, sitting on its roof, in a ditch

              E30s were awesome though and looked better than new, no wonder the refurbs were £125,000. I would take a year off work and build Grahams for that , then i could give him £25k for his engine builds...

                What's with the boot lid?

                  That bootlid was standard equipment on the M3, I've often wondered if it was more than just an extra bit of styling.

                    I think it was to raise the rear wing, plus it ties in with the rear pillars which are completely different from a STD e30 and have a different rake. Only the doors and roof skin are interchangeable with the normal e30s

                      Was there some sort of regulation or homologation issue why they could'nt just fit a bigger rear wing?

                          they put a lot of effort into improving the areo hense the thicker rear pillars and raised rear deck which also necessitates a shorter rear screen

                                yes, its a helper spring

                                yes and no, my car currently also has helper springs fitted but mine are above the main spring, it doesnt make any real difference where the helper goes
