I have a few s14 in bits and my e30 m3 is rhd and the stock manifold works fine, infact the birds conversion was just to space the downpipes out for the down link to pass through.

If you need any radom s14 bits drop me a line

Could you machine a little bowl in the pistons and keep some squish while reducing the compression ratio at the same time. Is there any room to increase the volume of the combustion chamber in the head?

theres a bit to be had opening out the chambers head but TBH i dont really want to mess around with them so i can keep the option to use pukka race s14 pistons in future,

the piston crowns arnt really thick enough to take a bowl being machined in them from memory there only 6mm thick in the middle, infact i was considering doing the opposite machining away more at the edges and leaving a small biscuit in the middle of the piston

a few pics from hours and hours of porting.

the std inlet port meassures 26mm dia a mere 70 % of the dia of the 37mm valve it supplies, when i did the last flow test i'd opened the test port up 2mm and gained massively in flow so i've high hopes for the second stab at opening it up, it took one hell of a lot of grinding to get them out to 30mm which is 80% of valve size, infact i've finished the head at least twice then gone back for more! the last time i did some work on the radius of the short turn, ive probably lost some low lift flow and gained at high lift, i have a feeling though that on the face of it i 'd loose twice as the valves at low lift twice, i think i'll only loose once as on the closing flank the ram tuning at high rpm should keep piling the mixture in, well thats the hope anyway.

of coarse theres always the chance i've made it worse but what ever its staying as it is!

            std unmodified port

you might of noticed no mention of exhaust work, thats because its not needed the std exhaust port out flows the std intake by 120% so unless i get over 180cfm (unlikely) theres no need to touch em

Glad to see you are going 16v now, love the sound of a good 4 pot atmo e30 M3 engine, when you are finnished with the final version of this engine it would give a 2.5 millington a run for its money!

And 250bhp or so for now with a wall of torque is going to really get that e30 moving out of the corners

Best of luck with the new build

That would work Gary, don't think the wing is legal though Might need some 'Leepu' wheel spacers too

Does look good though, I just looked at the vid and the back of the car looks madder than the front
